To update the QR situation from the previous thread : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1437921&start=250#p22556235

A7-BHH fully painted QR.
A7-BHI fully painted QR.
A7-BHJ painted white base coat fuselage/engines with QR tail.
A7-BHK ditto.
A7-BHL ditto.
A7-BHM ditto.

Could be that U-turn doesn't want the paint fading while in storage and they are due to go back to PDX for fully painting when he's ready to take delivery, or maybe they are ntu. It's interesting that the lastest AMX 787 got the same treatment at PDX just a few days ago and went to VCV all white, sans tail. Unlike QR, AMX doesn't strike me as being an airline that would be bothered about such things so I wonder if Avolon Aerospace are looking for a new customer to take this frame? Plus for what it's worth, no Mexican hex has been assigned to the frame either.

VCV now up to 37 brand new 787s in storage.

I see that 787-8 N507BJ sneaked out of Springfield in early December for Waco TX. Waco has a paint facility there and was where all the Ministry of Finance frames got painted so I wonder if it's having a new paint job? It already got a corporate paint scheme at San Bernadino in autumn 2018. I note that its interior outfitting was completed in 2019 and was then offered for sale. Current & future owner unknown and I don't believe that the very old info about Korean Air VIP is valid. This was the frame which suffered a nose wheel collapse at Grant County.

Whilst on the subject of corporate 787 BBJs, I also note that the Kalair VP-BDA was never completed (or even started?) and has been for sale with an empty interior since January 2018. It's been at Basel since delivery.

N947BA 787-8 over at Victorville has been for sale via Comlux for many years with a "big price reduction" announced mid 2020, but still no interest it seems. It has a 18/244 business/economy interior apparently.

Any of the PAE crowd see if JA927A came back from PDX fully painted or just a white blow-over like the AMX and QTRs have been getting there?

Boeing 787 Issues ‘Mushroom’ With No Fix In View, Air Lease Says - https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... lease-says

There’s just greater and greater levels of inspections going on,” Plueger, who heads the largest publicly traded U.S. aircraft lessor, said on an earnings call Monday. “As yet today, it’s difficult to see a definitive fix that is agreeable by the aviation authorities and all going forward.”

Some of the wide-body jets due to be delivered to Air Lease have been delayed more than 12 months, giving the Los Angeles-based company and its customers the right to bolt from their original contracts, Plueger said.

Any updates on 787? Air Lease doesn't seem optimistic.

Boeing CEO said last month that deliveries should resume in March, possibly late Feb.

ALC has already cancelled 19 B737-8 MAX last year (5 and in Nov 14) and additional an option for 45 B737-8 MAX got expired, so is also gone. OK, they have said this January that possibly few (but not all) of the cancelled MAX orders will be renewed, when the deliveries will restart.

If ALC and others will now have the additional chance to cancel some of the B787 orders as delayed for more than one year....

Seems Boeing is hard working to produce as many whitetails as possible. And we shall not forget, again and again, it is Boeings fault.

On SpiritAero earnings call, leadership says Boeing not going to return to rate 14 on 787, goal is around 7/mo.

Deeper analysis here.

Boeing is asking suppliers to do a deep engineering analysis into non-conformities and rectify any issues they find at least spriit aerospace says so

I think this was pretty much known when Boeing announced the 787 was going CHS only. Not sure what max rate that site is capable of but it is not rate 14, and Boeing obviously wouldn’t shut down PAE assembly just to reopen it a few months later.

Considering the fact that the 14 rate was with both Everett and CHS, it's not that surprising.

I have a question, with all 787's being produced at Charleston, would Boeing still delivery some from Everett by flying them CHS-PAE before ferrying them to their new home base? Or would all new deliveries be conducted from Charleston?

First Boeing Flight - so first flight of the airframe and the flight crew are all-Boeing.

Later on will come the C Flights - Customer Acceptance - where the PIC (Pilot in Command) is from the airline and a Boeing pilot is supporting.

A B1 can be a second flight if the first flight is cut short due to tech issues.

I thought Hawaiian had deferred their 787 deliveries for a couple years?
Doesn't make sense to paint their 1st frame in full colors if she'll be
spending the next couple of years at VCV ?

Says first 787-9 in September 2022, continuing thru 2026. But article says EIS maybe 2023.

Deliveries back online tomorrow. Boeing expects to deliver 2-3 787s this month. Nice to see the deliveries back online and hopefully somewhat of a closing chapter to this 787 debacle as more work within the supply chain continues!

2023-6
2024-6

The first 789 for Hawaiian has rolled out of paint at CHS

Any idea if the pics can be found elsewhere?

I have my own image but I will not share it. I will wait for its B1 flight and then I will upload it.

Does anyone know why the pictures of allegedly the first Hawaiian B787 taken at CHS have dissappeared? Perhaps someone stepped out of line and upset the Gods!
Thanks

It looks like the Tweet was deleted, so it broke the embedded images posted by qf789.

How many Vietnam Airlines B787-10s are spotted at CHS? Except 2 airframes flew to other airport for storage, there is at least one lotus-tail airframe being assembled in CHS, right?

VN-A877 did B1 today, should be going to VCV tomorrow or day after. I don’t know how many but there‘s a few more Vietnam coming. You could check the 787 tables

After VN-A877 there will be only one VN-B78X left. It would be VN-A878, L/N 1104.
